TFM Radio and Magic1170's Cash for Kids Charity was awarded Children's Charity of the year at the prestigious County Durham and Tees Valley Charity Awards. They had also been short listed for Local Charity and Fundraiser of the Year.
At the end of the evening, which was held at Middlesbrough FC, the overall Charity of the Year was also scooped by TFM Radio & Magic 1170's Cash for Kids.
Charity Manager Dawn Carney says; "we are absolutely ecstatic, especially after also receiving the Charity & Community Award at the recent Bauer Radio Awards. The next target is to hit half a million pounds by the end of the year."
In September, Bauer Media held its annual Radio Awards in London. Over 1000 people attended from over 50 Radio Stations across the UK. TFM Radio & Magic 1170's Cash for Kids beat off stiff competition to be awarded the National Charity and Community Award. It was especially recognised for its achievements with the Tommy Leech Campaign.
The charity is now planning the biggest local Toy Appeal they have ever delivered, securing a business unit, vehicles and volunteers. The aim is to support 10,000 local children this Christmas by distributing over £220,000 worth of toys!!
