We've been having a chat with the Commanding Officer of the The Light Dragoons who deploy to Afghanistan in April.

Lieutenant Colonel Sam Plant MBE will lead The 500-strong regiment, nicknamed 'England’s Northern Cavalry' which recruits from the North East and Yorkshire:

This will be the Regiment’s fourth tour of Afghanistan, having had Squadrons deployed in 2006, 2007 and 2009. The Regiment also deployed to Iraq in 2003 and 2005.
