As a consultation period gets underway about proposed NHS job cuts in County Durham and Darlington, public sector Union, Unison told us they'll fight to save jobs. It follows the announcement made by NHS North East on 16 August to reduce management costs and reinvest savings into frontline services. The NHS in our region are trying to make 4.3 million pounds of spending cuts.

8yr old boy dies in North Yorks Swimming Pool

North Yorkshire Police are investigating the sudden death of an 8-year-old boy after he got into difficulties in the swimming pool at Hambleton Leisure Centre in Northallerton. The boy, who lives locally, was taken by ambulance to the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton where he was pronounced dead after efforts were made to revive him.
