Roger wakes you up every Saturday and Sunday morning on Magic 1170, a little more gently than during the week as hopefully you don't have to go to work! News and Sport from our area, some of the tittle-tattle from the papers, plus one or two ideas of places you could visit for the day compliments the great music - the best of the 60s, 70s and more.

And to get those grey cells working at the weekend, Roger invites you to play a couple of games on his shows.

FIRST BEAT starts just after 7 o'clock. Roger plays you a snippet from the start of a song - if you can identify it, call him on 01642 607 111 and you could win a great prize!

And after 8 o'clock it's TEXT THE TEXT. Roger will give you a line of Text from a hit song . . . if you can work out what song the words come from you Text the answer to the Magic Textline 63103. Roger began making Radio Shows for his friends and family once he was given a reel-to-reel tape recorder aged 11! Having done some real broadcasting while at University, his first Professional show was in 1981, and he has been on the radio ever since!

He came to the North-East in 1989, and has stayed in the area ever since as he loves it! Roger has two daughters (aged 17 & 14) and enjoys all kinds of activities with them, including Badminton, Pool, Table-Tennis and regular Karaoke!

Like many Presenters, Roger is also a frustrated Pop Star, and used to do occasional gigs singing and playing guitar. He also enjoys a wide range of activities, including Windsurfing, Water-Skiing, Parachuting, Tennis and Squash.

Roger says "One of the most enjoyable thing about this profession is meeting and interviewing so many great artists and actors. Some of my heroes that have been guests on my show over the years include Cliff Richard, Tom Jones,  Edward Fox, and Jack Lemmon."

Roger still enjoys doing live gigs, and can often be seen doing presentations or playing records at local nightspots and parties around the area !
